The World Lottery Association (WLA) has once again awarded its Responsible Gaming Framework Certificate of Alignment to Scientific Games.
In regards to its global operations and technology – which now covers five continents and 150 lotteries in 50 different countries – the provider has been awarded the re-certification following an ‘extensive independent, international auditing process’.
Pat McHugh, Scientific Games’ CEO, commented: “Scientific Games celebrates our WLA global re-certification as it re-affirms our steadfast commitment to responsible gaming innovation and ethical business practice across our operations and technology.”
The WLA reported that Scientific Games ‘meets and exceeds’ the minimum WLA Responsible Gaming certification requirements.
“We are dedicated to advancing our Healthy Play program so that we can continue to give our lottery customers tools and best practices to strengthen the impact of their responsible gaming efforts by cultivating greater public trust through increased lottery literacy,” McHugh added.
Notably, WLA also awarded the company with its initial global certification three years ago after it launched the aforementioned Healthy Play responsible gaming program.
This initiative demonstrated commitment to educating everyone in a jurisdiction about how to practice healthy lottery play.
Furthermore, the recent assessment highlighted Scientific Games’ ‘strong commitment to responsible gaming practices globally’, praising its approach for being embedded in the day-to-day execution of its product development and sales efforts.
Scientific Games was one of the first in the world to achieve WLA certification as a responsible gaming supplier at its European operations back in 2015. The company then earned multiple re-certifications thereafter.
In further company news, Scientific Games has just rolled out a collection of self-service terminals across several lottery retailers in Iowa earlier this month in the aim of strengthening its North American presence.
The PlayCentral terminals have been combined with the provider’s SCiQ retail ecosystem, streamlining lottery product management and providing real-time data analytics to retail venues, as well as the Iowa Lottery.
