The Norwegian state lottery operator Norsk Tipping has won the 2022 European Lotteries (EL) innovation award for its work in the field of responsible gaming.

Norsk Tipping’s campaign – ‘Spillepuls: Realtime data-driven player interactions’ – earned the top accolade at the bi-annual EL Innovation Awards, which took place during the EL Innovation Seminar (October 5-7) hosted by Sisal Lottery Italia S.p.A and IGT Lottery in Milan.

‘’On the occasion of the 2022 EL Innovation seminar, we are delighted to award the top prize to Norsk Tipping,” remarked Jarmo Kumpulainen, Executive Chair of the EL Innovation & Technology Working Group.

“Putting responsibility at its core, this lottery’s campaign ticked all the boxes to be the worthy winner.

‘’Customer friendly systems, effective campaigns, attractive products, high levels of trust and a good reputation are among the secrets of Norsk Tipping’s success.’’

Norsk Tipping’s ‘unique’ campaign was also praised for its prevention methods for at-risk players, while its personable customer touch also drew plaudits.

“The digital and personal dialogue gives the customer insight into their own game, invites reflection and makes it easy for them to make choices that moderate the game when the customer needs it,” the EL added.

This award arrives just a few months after Lotteri-og stiftelsestilsynet – the Norwegian Lotteries Authority – recommended that Norsk Tipping should make its games safer for players.
