Scientific Games Corporation has announced that it has extended its existing four-year contract with the Minnesota Lottery by a further two years until June 2022.

As a result, Minnesota will continue to have access to SG’s instant game entertainment systems which, in turn, will help drive funding for the environment, education, and health and human services in the midwestern US state.

Wes Harms, Director of Operations for the Minnesota Lottery, stated: “Minnesotans expect to have a variety of fun scratch games and play styles to choose from. We are happy that Scientific Games will continue to help us deliver what our players want for the next two years. Branded games like SLINGO have been popular with our players, which helps generate funding to support Minnesota’s environment and state services.”

In addition to the most popular Minnesota Scratchers, the deal has also seen the lottery benefit from SLINGO branded games designed and produced by Scientific Games. These games are a combination of bingo and slots and has become one of the lottery industry’s most requested and best performing extended play games.

“We do extensive research and focus groups on licensed brands and play styles so that our creative teams can design games that appeal to players and drive maximum profits for our lottery customers,” said John Schulz, Senior VP, Lottery Instant Products for Scientific Games. “Players love extended play games, and even moreso when they feature a recognizable brand and entertaining play style.”

The extensions further builds on the relationship between Scientific Games and the Minnesota Lottery which has seen SG, through legacy companies, provide instant games to the operator since its 1990 inception.
