The Chaqueña Lottery Board, the gaming authority in the Argentine province of Chaco, has implemented new random controls in official agencies to oversee biosafety protocols and ensure they are being correctly executed in the lottery sales network.

Some of the measures that agencies must follow include the mandatory use of face masks, a minimum distance between employees, the placement of screens and signage on the floor to maintain two meters between customers.

As reported by local media news outlet Chaco Hoy, Gabriel Lemos, president of Lotería Chaqueña, commented on the reasoning behind the controls. He said: “This is part of a joint effort with the Association of Agents and Subagents and the Chamber of Permittees, whose main objective is to take care of the health and integrity of all members of the sales network and customers who attend the premises.”

Additionally, Lemos also highlighted the work of the lottery’s work commissions, who have also carried out the tasks of controlling and supervising the Agencies and Sub-Agencies in the Gran Resistencia and Presidencia Roque Sáenz Peña regions.

Furthermore, in order to contribute to the economic recovery of the province, which has in turn become one of the most affected in Argentina as a result of COVID-19, the Chaqueña Lottery has also approved the extension of the lottery operating hours, with agencies now authorised to remain open between the hours of 7am and 8pm.
