The Provincial Institute of Lottery and Casino (IPLyC) in Misiones, Argentina, has decided to reopen its lottery and betting agencies. The authority also restored some lottery draws on Saturday (2 May).
The IPLyC authorized the commercialization of games of chance in the Argentine province, after lifting the temporary suspension of lottery and betting operations.
On Saturday, the lotteries resumed the Quiniela Primera Matutina, Quiniela Matutina, Quiniela Poceada, Quiniela Nocturna, Nocturna Plus and the nightly Quiniela Poceada draws.
To be able to resume services, agency vendors must follow a series of safety and hygiene guidelines, in accordance with decrees 063/2020 and 450/2020. The aim is to ensure the health of clients, employees and the community in general.
The agencies will have restricted access, “in relation to the operational capacity of the unit, with a waiting area equal to or less than the number of active vendors.” A minimum distance of two feet will also be in place, according to the surface area of the shops, and entry will be prohibited to those who don’t bring hand sanitizer with them.
Last month, 800 provincial agencies had submitted a request to local Governor Oscar Herrera Ahuad and President Alberto Fernández, to come up with a plan that would allow them to reactivate their lottery draws.
The lottery agencies in Misiones are one of the first to resume activities in Argentina, as most provinces are still awaiting executive orders before coming up with a decision to reactivate their economies.
