2020 WSL postponed

A statement released by the North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries (NASPL) has confirmed that after careful consideration the 2020 World Lottery Summit (WLS) has been postponed.

This decision, which was made following a mutual agreement between both the NASPL and World Lottery Association (WLA) executive committees, was originally scheduled to be held in October 2020 but will now be pushed back two years to October 2022.

Despite the postponement, the 2022 iteration of the WLS will continue to be held in Vancouver Canada, in collaboration with the WLA and hosted by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC).

NASPL President Bishop Woosley, stated: “Though it is disappointing to delay this incredible international event, the health and safety of our attendees and contributors is the top priority. We greatly value our collaboration with our Associate Members, WLA and BCLC, and we look forward to seeing everyone in Vancouver for WLS 2022.”

Having been founded in 1971, NASPL began as an informal exchange of information among three pioneering lottery directors prior to the organisation growing into an active association that now represents 53 lotteries.

The rescheduled event will take place October 16-20, 2022.
