Kambi has now officially taken over France’s FDJ sportsbook agreement with the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG).
Back in 2025, FDJ publicly announced that Kambi has been selected to take over the former’s sportsbook contractual obligations with OLG as the French gaming giant scaled back its international presence to consolidate its financial profile at home ahead of a changing tax landscape.
Further cost controls last year saw the company sell the B2B tech unit of its Sporting Solutions to Betsson AB to further advance the post-acquisition integration of Kindred Group.
Kindred Group is itself the former owner of Kambi, having spun the B2B company off way back in 2014. The subsequent years have seen the duo maintain a close partnership, continuing after La Francaise des Jeux (FDJ) acquired Kindred and rebranded as FDJ United last year.
Regarding this week’s OLG deal, a novation agreement was signed with the full backing and consent of OLG, with that agreement now being completed and Kambi – successfully meeting all agreed conditions.
Werner Becher, Kambi Group CEO, said: “We are delighted to have officially completed this transition and to begin this next chapter of our partnership with OLG.
“Having met the necessary conditions of the novation agreement, Kambi is excited to become the official sportsbook provider and to have launched with one of the world’s most respected lottery operators.
“We value our partnership with OLG and look forward to leveraging our proven technology to help them drive sustainable growth and provide a safe and entertaining betting product for their customers in Ontario.”
OLG and Kambi officially went live with their partnership earlier this week, with the new sports betting services powered by Kambi’s Turnkey Sportsbook rolled out across both the OLG PROLINE and PROLINE+ retail and digital channels, respectively – with all profits from OLG’s operations are reinvested back into Ontario.
Duncan Hannay, OLG President and CEO, added: “OLG strives to provide a market leading PROLINE sports betting experience for our players.
“We look forward to working alongside our new partner, Kambi, who offers a proven track record of product excellence and reliability, as we deliver on our commitment to give back to the people and communities of Ontario. This is an exciting step forward for both organisations.”
Ontario is currently by far the largest lottery market in Canada in terms of sales, valued at $4.47bn in 2025. OLG is positioning itself to maintain momentum in the market, including by leveraging partnerships with the likes of Kambi and Brightstar.
