US-based lottery tech conglomerate SEGG Media Corporation will aim for a sports betting revolution when Q3 comes around.

This is when it will launch the Sports.com Super App, its new proprietary platform built on a total of $10m worth of technological investments, obtained after the acquisition of the tech assets and the 1,000,000-strong user base of GXR Racer Holdings Ltd earlier in July.

SEGG will look to capture the whole cycle of a modern sports audience, turning its Super App into a one-stop digital ecosystem for fans that combines live streaming, community chat hubs, stats-based social media, real-money and fantasy sports gaming, and sports news.

The idea is rooted in a 2024 study by Comcast Advertising, which revealed that casual sports fans spend two hours per week on average consuming non-game sports content, while avid sports fans do that for five hours per week.

Tim Scoffham, CEO of Sports.com Media, said: “This is more than a platform play, it’s a global media evolution. With GXR’s existing user base of more than 1,000,000 active users, the Sports.com Super App is rapidly positioning itself to become the go-to app for sports, esports, and immersive fan experiences around the world.

“Integrating the two platforms allows us to accelerate the development timeline for the Super App bringing fans closer to the action much sooner.”

Revenue will be generated through premium subscriptions, in-app advertising, merchandise sales, and gamified challenges. Founder and CEO of GXR, Paul Roy, will become the Director of NewCo, a newly-formed entity that will house the Sports.com Super App.

Matthew McGahan, Chairman and CEO of SEGG Media, added: “Acquiring the GXR platform and adding Paul Roy to the team allows us to accelerate our mission to deliver the world’s first fully immersive, unified sports and entertainment media app. This is all about execution and the market is now seeing that SEGG Media is delivering.”

Sports.com has already signed a viable sports partnership for its Super App which will now stream India’s Super League Kerala across the globe. SEGG has also undertaken further commitments to expand the app in markets across Latin America, Africa, Europe, the MIddle East and Asia.
