bacta launches SR Exchange to promote safer gambling best practices

bacta has launched its Social Responsibility (SR) Exchange, to provide the industry’s consumer-facing staff with practical guidance on how to deliver a safer gambling experience.

The SR Exchange forms part of a new commitment by bacta, the trade association for amusement and gaming machine industries of the UK to deepen collaboration, training and knowledge sharing between members.

The first SR Exchange will take place in Birmingham on 31 October, with the training focused on customer safer gambling engagements and interventions within UK venues.

Bacta seeks to provide the lived experience of individuals working in the land-based sector, as the open forum provides an opportunity for attendees to share their experiences of engaging with machine players.

John White, Chief Executive of the trade body, said: “We are very aware of the need to complement the academic work on safer gambling.

“To meet this need the SR Exchange provides ‘Real Insights delivered by Real People’ and has been designed to provide those attending with a tool kit of practical measures that they can share with colleagues and continue the industry’s outstanding commitment to safer gambling.”

The SR Exchange is the first of four bacta initiatives which reflect the trade body members’ commitment to deliver safe, responsible and enjoyable gambling entertainment.

The first SR Exchange precedes Safer Gambling Week (13 – 19 November), supported by bacta, the Betting and Gaming Council, the Lotteries Council and the Bingo Association.
