Australian lottery retailer Jumbo Interactive Limited has announced that Non-Executive Director and former Company Secretary, Bill Lyne, will retire effective as of March 31, 2021.

Lyne stepped down as Jumbo’s company secretary in January earlier this year and was replaced in the role by Graeme Blackett.

He is also the Principal of Australian Company Secretary Service and has been the nominated Company Secretary since October 2007.

Jumbo Chair Susan Forrester said: “On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Bill for his commitment and contribution to the business over the last 11 years, particularly as a member and Chair of the Audit and Risk Management Committee and as a member of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee.

“His support and counsel have been greatly valued. We wish him well with his retirement.”

Blackett has over 25 years’ of experience as a company secretary and has been a Senior Company Secretary with Company Matters for over two years, where he acts as a company secretary to a range of listed, unlisted, not-for-profit and superannuation fund clients.

Before joining Company Matters, Blackett held company secretarial and governance roles with National Australia Bank, the Australian Securities and Investments Commission, financial services provider AMP, the former retail group Westfield, software company Reckon Limited, and the former National Roads and Motorists’ Association Group.

Back in November, Jumbo signed an agreement with Lotterywest, the Western Australian State Government-owned and operated lottery, to provide its online software platform and services for up to the next 10 years. Its white-label website, www.oz.lotterywest.com, went live and fully operational the following month.

The Australian retailer was also recently granted a remote gambling software operating licence by the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC), enabling it to supply its proprietary software-as-a-service (SaaS) online platform to Commission-licensed operators.

In December, it entered into a six-year SaaS agreement with St Helena Hospice, a UK charity, to provide its online lottery software platform.
