Dominican National Lottery to review its processes to boost transparency

The Dominican National Lottery will be going through a transformation process to improve transparency and efficiency throughout the organization by the instructions of President Luis Abinader, according to Luis Maisichell Dicent, Director of the Lotería Nacional of the Dominican Republic.

The Dominican president asked the national lottery to change its processes in order to take advantage of national resources.

Maisichell Dicent said: “By instructions of President Luis Abinader, we are focused on improving and reviewing the entire institutional structure and its expenses. Every peso generated will be invested to benefit the Dominican people.”

In order to reduce the state’s expenses, the lottery signed an agreement with the Civil Aviation Board to lend them a property. The building will be used for administrative purposes and will save the Dominican Republic approximately $1.3m in rent and expenses annually.

José Marte Piantini, President of the Board, highlighted the work carried out by the new administration and said that it’s evident that it’s an example of the change in the country.

Maisichell Dicent was named as the new director by decree 388-20, at the end of August, replacing Miguel Mercedes Valdez. He explained then that this new era will be framed within a policy of transparency and spending cuts, following the pillars of the Dominican’s current President.
