GLMS has published its 2020 Q3 Monitoring & Intelligence Report this week, delivering news and updates regarding the association’s monitoring and intelligence work over the summer months in the service of its members.

Also included are highlights from the last few months, namely the updated GLMS Statutes that accomodate more membership categories in an effort to enhance secure exchange of information and related services.

The featured member in the current report is Loto Quebec with Louis Beaudet, Director for Sports Betting and Entertainment, talking about the organisation’s handling of the current world situation and its hosting of the latest GLMS Hub.

Commenting on the added value of GLMS and why he would recommend other lotteries to join the association, he said: “GLMS is a must for lottery sports betting operators. It helps us have a better overview on everything that is ongoing regarding match-fixing and sports integrity.

“It raises flags by alerting us to specific situations and at the same time has a role of education for new traders or for traders that haven’t yet been exposed to match-fixing. Sharing information between us the lotteries is a must to succeed in the sports betting competitive environment, and GLMS contributes to this when it comes to sports integrity. Perpetuity of our business passes through sports integrity and we all need to do what we can to protect it.

On the latest GLMS Operational hub, Beaudet stated: “Loto-Québec was proud to be selected as the host of the third operational hub. Setting up the hub in pandemic times was sometimes challenging but we succeeded and already have a good team in place.

“We are proud of this team. This new American team is important for GLMS as sports integrity is not concentrated in a specific part of the world or to only a few sports. Sports integrity must be addressed everywhere. With this new hub, GLMS has positioned itself as a global entity, being able to cover sports all over the world on a 24/7 basis. Being now able to better cover the American time zones, it also improves the services given by the organisation to lotteries in this part of the globe.”
