Light & Wonder, formerly known as Scientific Games Corporation, has completed its legal entity name change and has begun trading under its new ticker symbol, LNW.

Earlier this year, the Las Vegas-based company unveiled its rebrand as it shifts its sole focus to providing services to the gaming market.

It was noted that the process to legally change its business name could take some time, with spring 2022 earmarked as a potential date.

In addition, Light & Wonder signalled its intention to begin trading under a new stock ticker it had reserved, moving away from ‘SGMS’.

Both operations have now been completed and Light & Wonder started trading as LNW on NASDAQ last week.

Light & Wonder’s statement included a note to shareholders that, following the change in ticker symbol, no action is required on their part, with the shares automatically now trading as LNW.

The firm’s recent rebrand follows its October 2021 announcement that the firm had sold its lottery business to Brookfield Business Partners, in a deal potentially worth over $6bn.

Last month, Light & Wonder revealed it had completed its debt refinancing transaction, reducing its adjusted net debt leverage ratio to below 3.9x from 6.2x, largely aided by the sale of its lottery business.
