Scientific Games has launched large-scale retail and digital sports betting and lottery operations in Azerbaijan, following on from a 10-year agreement with the country’s national lottery, Azerlotereya.
As part of the long-term agreement in which SG became the lottery’s exclusive supplier of retail and digital lottery instant games, draw games, sports, and an omnichannel lottery gaming system, Azerlotereya launched a sports betting venture in mid-January using SG’s technology.

Azerbaijan has a population of 10 million people with a growing interest in sports, with the capital Baku playing host to high profile events such as a Formula 1 Grand Prix and one of ten host cities of UEFA Euro 2020.
Moreover, Scientific Games is expanding its reach in terms of sports betting supply, recently penning deals with the Western Canada Lottery Corporation and in Turkey through a joint venture with Demirören.
