Pollard Banknote has congratulated its subsidiary Schafer Systems after it was announced that its Select 4 Instant Ticket Vending Machine (ITVM) was shortlisted for Lottery Product of the Year for the upcoming International Gaming Awards 2022

The award recognises a lottery product that is ‘innovative in approach, provides the ability to connect and engage customers, and offers the very best options in playing.’

Select 4, Pollard Banknote states, has been shortlisted for its self-service ability and small size, allowing players to easily buy instant tickets without the need for a worker at the till. This feature allows lotteries to sell instants in new places such as bars, restaurants, bowling alleys and coffee shops.

“We are so pleased to see our Select 4 product receive this recognition,” said Teresa Immel, Senior Director, Sales and Marketing, Schafer Systems.

“Retail expansion has and continues to be a focus of ours and Select 4, which is perfect for non-traditional locations such as restaurants and bars, is redefining retail for lottery by increasing the number and types of locations where instant tickets are sold.”

Select 4 has launched in two US jurisdictions and has been met with positive feedback, with lotteries stating that the system has helped to boost sales.

The International Gaming Awards will take place on April 11 in London, in which Shafer Systems will aim to win the Lottery Product of the Year.

Immel added: “Select 4 has been successfully launched in two US jurisdictions to date and has continually been met with player excitement and has proven to increase instant ticket sales. We look forward to continuing to work with our lottery partners to see how Select 4 and other products from our portfolio can be leveraged to attract new players and contribute to continued sales growth.”
