Neopollard Interactive LLC (NPi), a joint venture between Pollard Banknote and NeoGames, has congratulated Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC) on the launch of its sports betting operations this week.

The firm provides AGLC with its NeoSphere iLottery Technology as it seeks to bring a user friendly and powerful platform to sports bettors in Alberta.

Players in Alberta can now go online to PlayAlberta’s website where they can place bets on sporting events from an array of professional sports leagues across the US and Europe including the NHL, NBA, NFL, and MLB and European football leagues.

This comes at a time when several Canadian provinces are legalising sports betting and are introducing it to their users. Ontario and British Columbia have also begun sports betting operations recently.

Liz Siver, General Manager of NeoPollard, commented: “NPi continues to expand and enhance our products and services in order to give Albertans a unified online gaming experience across lottery, casino, and now sports betting.

“As AGLC’s online operating partner, NPi provides a complete 360° solution, including state-of-the-art technology, our Power Suite of operational services, and engaging digital game content.”

Acting President and CEO of AGLC Kandice Machado added: “AGLC is continuously looking for ways to improve Play Alberta, and adding sports betting to the website will give consumers expanded gambling entertainment options.

“Play Alberta Sports Betting will take the existing sports betting market that players are familiar with and introduce a modern option that presents Albertans with choice and convenience in a safe and regulated environment.”
