The Rio de Janeiro State Lottery (Loterj) has called for fintech companies to submit a bid to provide online payment services.

Through a statement published in the Official Gazette, Loterj detailed that the concession with the new online payment partner would last four years.

As reported by BNL Data, the lottery is looking for a payment solutions provider that would offer electronic deposits and withdrawals, as well as processing and transaction settlements in official payment accounts, among other things.

The service would be offered under the name Loterj Digital and would work from a mobile application and a website that would allow people to purchase lottery tickets and other products of the state organization.

In regards to choosing the provider, Loterj is focusing on finding a company that offers the “Lowest Unit Price” possible.

“This contract will allow Loterj to have its own payment system, without being subject to the gaming systems hired in the future. It will also allow the Government of Rio de Janeiro to use the payment system in the long term,” the lottery detailed.

The gaming authority will receive proposals until May 10 and it revealed that the purchase rate for Loterj products per transaction will be 2.81%.

In the near future, the public bank in charge of the gaming vertical Caixa and the lotteries currently in operation will be able to offer new modalities and a network of Rio de Janeiro lottery services, which may be replicated by other Brazilian states.
