The Secretariat of Special Projects of the Federal District of Brazil has published the list of companies that have been pre-selected to continue with the process to develop a local lottery.

The process kicked off in February, and in order to select the most adequate operator, the authority called for companies to present different bids, which after a short period of consideration have been pre-selected to continue with the next step.

With the start of phase one, the companies that will be able to participate are Intralot do Brasil, Iris Data Driven Desenvolvimento de Software and Zyrion System, Marco Zero Consultoria, Ícone Tecnologia e Pagamento, the conglomerate of MCE Intermediações e Negócios and Santa Casa Global Brasil Participações, and Loto Tech Participações.

As BNL Data reported, the six companies were selected to present studies of technical, economic, financial and legal models to operate lotteries in the Federal District of Brazil.

The government has given them 60 days to develop their proposals. Once the studies are analysed, they will start phase two, in which it will be officially decided who will receive the license to operate state lotteries and games.

“These are the studies that will define the best way to explore the lottery [business]. For now, it’s a subject currently giving its first steps, but soon we will have a detailed project,” said the Secretary of Special Projects, Roberto Andrad.
