The Lotería de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires (LOTBA), the regulator from Argentina’s capital, has launched a new brand called ‘Saber jugar‘ (Know how to play), which promotes responsible gambling.

As part of the International Responsible Gambling Day (February 17), LOTBA will carry out different campaigns to inform about responsible gambling and to raise awareness about problem gambling.

LOTBA emphasised that playing in a responsible setting ‘implies doing so through authorised sites in which a safe, regulated, controlled and transparent environment is developed, and one where the principles of responsible gambling are respected’.

Additionally, the regulator renewed its site saberjugar.gob.ar, through which it provides information to identify authorised sites and allow people to exclude themselves.

The site will also have a request form for family members in case they want to nominate someone to be part of the Voluntary Self-Exclusion Registry (ReVA).

Once LOTBA receives it, it must schedule a meeting with that person, communicate their family’s request, interview them and give them the possibility of excluding themselves.

As part of Responsible Gambling Week, LOTBA will also implement campaigns on the street and will name different lottery agencies as ambassadors. QR codes will also be placed on the agencies to access the self-exclusion form.

“Lotería de la Ciudad continues to reinforce its commitment to responsible gambling and continues working to provide a framework to offer security and transparency where local players can bet with the guarantee that gambling is regulated and complies with all technical requirements,” LOTBA said.
