The Chamber of Official Lottery Agents in Buenos Aires (CAOLAB) wants to market the special end-of-year lottery draw by mid-November. The organisation recently met with authorities from the Provincial Institute of Lotteries and Casinos (IPLyC), the local regulator, to discuss the marketing campaign for this draw.

The authorities aim to start the campaign this month in order to boost sales before the official date of the draw, December 30. The approximate value of each ticket would be $38, although no official confirmation has been issued yet.

CAOLAB, along with the IPLyC Director Omar Silva, discussed the extension of the quiniela and poceados draws’ limits, which is still awaiting the director’s authorization. Silva will also decide if they will extend the maximum payment at agencies from $127 to $1,700.

The chamber’s representatives reiterated the request to implement an instant pool and the cancellation of the draws for non-winning tickets. However, they assured that they’re still analyzing these issues.

Furthermore, the Director of the Legal Department at IPLyC, Sebastián Silvestre, talked about the creation of a work commission that would fight against illegal gambling.

CAOLAB said: “We were informed that this commission, despite not being fully formed, is already working on several investigations and has made more than 40 complaints regarding illegal points of sale and virtual sites. It also participated in three raids and has committed to work with CAOLAB to fight illegal gambling.”
