Calvi calls for strength and vigilance as lottery sector resumes business

In the latest newsletter to members, GLMS President Ludovico Calvi has called for strength and vigilance throughout the lottery sector as the world slowly begins to get back to business.

Updating the membership on new developments, Calvi highlighted the forthcoming debut webinar to be organised by GLMS. Organised by the association, jointly with its founding collective members European Lotteries and the World Lottery Association, it will take place from June 23 to 25.

“We welcome speakers and participants from around the world, from China to the US in a special three-hours-a-day format,” he wrote.

And with the association’s ranks being steadily boosted with the addition of newcomers, Calvi issued a warm welcome to Sporting Solutions which became the fifth associate member and the first dedicated sportsbook supplier in the GLMS family.

On day-to-day business, Calvi noted: “As always, our operations team continues to monitor sports competitions, tirelessly analysing suspicious trading patterns, and alerting cases to our partners and members while preparing for a busy summer as suspended competitions re-start.

“Meanwhile, we continue to contribute to policy-making and standard-setting and enhance concrete actions through our projects with partners and stakeholders.”

In conclusion, he offered: “I would like to take this opportunity to encourage you to continue to stay vigilant and strong and I warmly thank all our members, partners and stakeholders for the excellent cooperation and hope that you, your families and your loved ones are as safe as can be. Looking forward to a busy summer!”
