Health Games backs NHS

Health Games has officially announced its support for the NHS services following the revelation that it will match 20% of each player’s first deposit and donate it to the NHS charities foundation – NHS Charities Together.

The initiative sees the Health Games join Captain Tom and the growing list of organisations contributing to the national effort to support NHS charities which, in recent weeks, has seen over £100m raised, resulting in PPE and life-saving equipment becoming more readily available to those who need it most.

Announcing the initiative, Yakir Firestane, Head of Digital at Health Games, said: “Health Games is a sister site to the Health Lottery and will complement the great work being done to support charities across the UK by matching 20% of a player’s first deposit and donating it to NHS Charities Together on their behalf.

“Charities across the country are at breaking point and our frontline workers have kept our country moving throughout this incredibly difficult time. If we can help them to get through this while allowing our players to have fun in the process, then that is exactly what we will do.”

The new scheme also further emphasises the importance of corporate social responsibility, with the Health Games now supporting both the NHS Charities Together while also giving players the chance to win a life changing jackpot of over £1.6m.

Firestane added: “The introductory offers we are making are unrivalled, and with the chance to win a top jackpot of over £1.6m safe in the knowledge that money will be donated to NHS Charities Together on your behalf, we think the Health Games offers world class value for money.”

The initiative follows on from the impact felt by health service supporting charities that have taken a hit to their fundraising activities as a result of COVID-19. In fact, figures from the National Council for Voluntary Organisations show that charities across the UK face losing out on an estimated £4.3bn due to Covid-19.

Health Games’ impending contributions will now serve as further funding, adding to the recently announced UK Government emergency financial package of £750m to those in the frontline.

Firestane concluded: “It is important that every industry plays their part, and we call on all other gaming operators to join us in contributing to this effort.”
